1. Policy Statement

Bigness is committed to conducting business responsibly and ethically. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms, including forced labour, child labour, bonded labour, and servitude.

We will not knowingly engage with any supplier, contractor, or business partner involved in such practices.

2. Purpose

This policy sets out how Bigness prevents, identifies, and addresses modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chain. It supports compliance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reflects our commitment to protecting human rights.

3. Scope

  • Contractors, subcontractors, agency workers, and consultants engaged on our sites.

  • Suppliers and business partners who provide goods or services to Bigness.

4. Responsibilities

  • Directors & Senior Management – ensure this policy is implemented, monitored, and reviewed annually.

  • Managers & Supervisors – communicate policy requirements to their teams, carry out due diligence, and escalate concerns.

  • Employees – remain alert to potential indicators of modern slavery and report any suspicions immediately.

  • Suppliers & Contractors – are required to comply with this policy and demonstrate the same zero-tolerance stance.

5. Our Approach

To reduce risks of modern slavery, Bigness will:

  • Carry out due diligence checks on suppliers, subcontractors, and labour providers.

  • Include anti-slavery clauses in contracts and agreements.

  • Provide training and awareness for employees and managers.

  • Maintain whistleblowing and reporting channels to encourage concerns to be raised confidentially.

  • Investigate all reports thoroughly and take appropriate action, including termination of contracts where breaches are found.

6. Risk Assessment

We recognise the construction industry may involve higher risks, especially in temporary labour or subcontracting arrangements.
We will continue to monitor and assess areas of vulnerability and apply additional safeguards where needed.

7. Reporting Concerns

All employees, suppliers, and third parties are encouraged to report suspicions of modern slavery.
Reports can be made confidentially via:

We will treat all reports seriously, investigate promptly, and protect whistleblowers from retaliation.

8. Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action for employees or termination of contracts with suppliers and contractors.

9. Review

This policy is reviewed annually by Bigness Directors to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and compliant with law. Updates are communicated to all staff and supply chain partners.
