Modern Slavery Statement
At Bigness, we are fully committed to conducting our business with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. We oppose all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in our operations and throughout our supply chain.
Our Commitment
-
We comply with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and uphold international human rights standards.
-
We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and expect the same from all those we work with.
-
We are committed to acting ethically, with transparency, and to putting effective systems in place to safeguard against any form of exploitation.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Bigness provides construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and property services across London. Our supply chain includes subcontractors, labour providers, and suppliers of building materials.
We recognise that some sectors of the construction industry may carry higher risks, particularly where temporary or low-skilled labour is involved.
Policies and Procedures
To minimise risks, we have established the following:
-
Supplier Due Diligence – vetting new suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring they share our values and comply with relevant laws.
-
Contracts and Agreements – requiring all suppliers and contractors to comply with anti-slavery and human trafficking obligations.
-
Employee Awareness – informing staff of the signs of modern slavery and the channels to raise concerns.
-
Whistleblowing – providing safe and confidential ways for employees, subcontractors, or third parties to report suspicions of wrongdoing.
Training
We provide awareness training for staff and managers to help them:
-
Understand the risks of modern slavery in the construction industry.
-
Identify potential red flags in recruitment and supply chains.
-
Act promptly and appropriately if they have concerns.
Monitoring and Review
-
We regularly review our supply chain and procurement processes.
-
We investigate all reported concerns thoroughly and take action where necessary.
-
This statement is reviewed annually and updated to reflect changes in law, business practices, or risk assessment.
