PROJECT OVERVIEW
The client wanted to restore an existing parquet timber floor that had become worn, scratched, and uneven in appearance after years of use.
The objective was to preserve the original flooring while improving its appearance, durability, and long-term performance through professional sanding, preparation, and finishing.
Rather than replacing the floor, the client chose restoration as a more cost-effective and sustainable solution.
INITIAL ISSUES IDENTIFIED
During the initial inspection, several issues were identified:
- Surface wear and scratches
- Uneven colouration
- Loss of protective finish
- Areas affected by previous repairs
- General ageing of the timber surface
Although structurally sound, the floor required significant preparation before refinishing.
Existing Parquet Flooring
The original parquet floor showed visible wear and inconsistent colouring caused by years of foot traffic and previous maintenance works.
Surface Condition Assessment
The floor finish had deteriorated, leaving the timber vulnerable to future damage and reducing the overall appearance of the room.

WORK COMPLETED
The project was completed in several stages:
Step 1 – Site Preparation
The area was cleared and prepared to protect surrounding finishes.
Step 2 – Professional Sanding
Industrial floor sanding equipment was used to remove the existing worn finish and expose clean timber beneath.
Step 3 – Surface Refinement
Multiple sanding passes were carried out to achieve a smooth and consistent surface across the entire floor area.
Step 4 – Cleaning & Dust Removal
The floor was thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned to remove all sanding residue.
Step 5 – Protective Finish Application
A new protective coating was applied to enhance durability and highlight the natural timber pattern.
